Welcome to the website of Tim Arbon Photography.

About Tim

Hi. I’m Tim Arbon, and I’m a creative wedding photographer based in Swindon in Wiltshire. I see my job as to tell the story of your wedding, in a way that brings back wonderful memories for you, and reflects who you are. What that means varies from couple to couple… but the important thing is it’s not about me, or my photography style – it’s about you and the sort of photos you would like to remember your wedding day with.

I’ve been a keen photographer for as long as I can remember, and I’ve used all the classics, from Kodak box brownies to the very latest digital SLRs. Over the years I’ve improved my photography by reading reference books, joining camera clubs, doing year-long photography projects, sharing my work for critique by photographers from around the world, and of course joining professional organisations such as the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers.

In 2006 I was asked to photograph my first wedding, which was held in the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence! Since then I’ve photographed over 50 weddings in Oxford and Cambridge colleges, Michelin star restaurants, manor houses, churches, mills and barns… and even some hotels in Swindon! But no matter where the wedding is, I always bear in mind that it’s all about the couple, the story of their wedding, & reflecting their personalities in the pictures I take of them.

The service

Once you’ve booked me I work with you on planning the photography for your wedding. To ensure I know the sort of thing you would like me to photograph, I send you a details form, which asks if you would like any group photos taken, and if there are any particular items that are special to you, that you would also like a picture of – such as a family heirloom passed down from mother to bride.

I also visit the venue(s) before the wedding day, take photos to help with my planning, and email you suggestions. Some of the photos may even be used later to enhance your wedding album!

And I create a draft itinerary of your day, just so we can check we have time to take the photos you want, when you want. On the day I’m casual, friendly and relaxed – but I work very hard, and people come over and tell me how impressed they are at every wedding!

The editing

I’ve been editing photographs since the very early days of digital photography (somewhere around 1997). I’ve gone through all the phases of applying special effects, adding textures etc., and I got it out of my system very quickly! I still do lots of editing, but to me, it is all about enhancing the memories of your day, so I edit photos to look like the special moments as you remember them.

Slideshows

I create a complimentary DVD slideshow for each wedding. I could of course just press a button and create one automatically, but as I see the slideshow as one of the key ways I enhance the memories of your day, I take the time to “produce” the slideshow, much in the same way as someone would produce a movie – with an introduction sequence, different music for different scenes, and the music synchronized to the photos… all gradually building to a grand finale.

When you get to see your photos, it deserves to be treated as a special and personal event. So for your presentation, I invite you to my candle-lit studio, give you both a glass of Champagne, and project your beautiful bespoke slideshow on a wall over 10 feet across. (This is totally optional, and you can just have the discs sent to you if you wish.)

Albums

Most photographers offer just one or two album types. I offer six – which means I have the right album type for your wedding, whatever your budget or requirements. Three examples are shown below.

As well as albums and slideshows, I offer lots of other products, so if you require anything in particular just let me know.
